Eleanor T. Robinson Grutkowski, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, March 26, 2017 at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carbondale, PA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Robinson and her second husband, Chester Grutkowski. Born in Dickson City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stella and Stanley Dombrowski. She was a devoted Catholic and member of St Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, who prayed the Rosary on a daily basis sometimes 3 to 4 times a day. Eleanor was a loving, caring, and kindhearted, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a homemaker who loved to bake as she spoiled her children with her delicious pies, pierogies, pigs in the blanket, and potato pancakes. She also loved to can when the harvest was ready. All these skills she handed down to her daughters. While raising a family, cooking, and canning, she worked at Cindy Frocks and Waymart Knitwear as a talented seamstress. She is survived by two sons: Michael Robinson and wife Cathy of Forest City, PA and Gary Robinson of South Canaan, PA; three daughters: Donna Matusek of Carbondale, PA, Barbara Granville and husband Paul of Carbondale, PA and Rosemarie Syrylo of Waymart, PA; a daughter-In-Law: Gail Browning Robinson of VA; 27 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son: Mark Robinson; two daughters: Cynthia Briggs and Karen Kennedy; daughter-in-law: Brinda Robinson; son-in-law: Raymond Briggs; sisters: Josephine O'Keefe of NJ, Andrea Olney of FL and Mary Smith of NJ; brothers: Peter Dombrowski, Frank Dombrowski and Freddie Dombrowski all of NJ, Al Dombrowski and Tony Dombrowski both of PA and William Dombrowski of CO. The funeral was held Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. James Price, C.P., pastor and Deacon Edward Casey. Interment, Simon Cemetery, South Canaan, PA. Pallbearers: Roger Dean McKinney, Jr., Gary Byrin Edwards, Ethan Edwards, Jeffery Karl Briggs, Zachery Joseph Robinson and Isaiah Robinson.
