Eleanor M. Griffiths, 86, of Clifford, PA., died Tuesday afternoon, October 11, 2011. Born October 19, 1924 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Richard J. and Anna (Lester) Griffiths. She was a 1942 graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and was retired from the Weston Company in Archbald, PA. She was a member of the Clifford United Methodist Church and its Dorcas Circle. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company. She is survived by one brother: Lester Griffiths and wife Nancy of Jacksonville, FL.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother: Evan Griffiths; one sister: Marie Lewis. The funeral was held Monday, October 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, with Pastor Peg Knapich of the Clifford United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford. Pallbearers: Richard Lewis, Glynn Lewis, John Griffiths, Sr., John Griffiths, Jr., David Edwards and James Naticchi. Friends called Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 3-5 PM.
