Eileen D. Yasnovitch, 70, of Lenoxville, PA., died Saturday morning, February 27, 2010 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, PA., after a brief illness. She was the wife of William E. Yasnovitch, Jr. They were married December 27, 1980. Born April 2, 1939 in Childs, PA., she was the daughter of the late Rexford, Sr. and Helen (Fife) Oakley. She was a graduate of Mayfield High School and attended the Berean Baptist Church, Carbondale. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and past president of the PTA, Peckville, PA. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by one daughter: Madelyn Joy Bognatz and husband Edward, Jr. of Union Dale, PA.; four sons: William Matichak, Jr. and wife Kathryn of Peckville, PA., David Matichak of Orlando, FL., Brian Matichak and wife Maria of Passaic, NJ. and Jason Yasnovitch and wife Amie of Harford, PA,; seven granddaughters: Melissa Matichak of Archbald, PA., Nicole Matichak of Scranton, PA., Gina Marcado of Passaic, NJ., Kateri Matichak of Orlando, FL., Angela Matichak of Passaic, NJ., Courtney Bognatz of Union Dale, PA. and Anya Yasnovitch of Harford, PA.; four grandsons: David Matichak, Jr., of Orlando, FL., Nathaniel Matichak of Orlando, FL., Edward Bognatz, III. of Union Dale, PA. and Dimitri Yasnovitch of Harford, PA.; two great granddaughters: Mariah Lyon and Firora Scalzo; one great grandson: Julian Black; seven sisters: Louise Messick, Ruth Schuman, Gayle Cosklo, Ellen Morcom, Margie Skinner, Elizabeth Dubas and Sharon Brady; seven brothers: Rexford, Thomas, Alan, Donald, Leon, Larry and Joseph Oakley; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Jane Harrison and Kathryn Oakley; two brothers: Jerry and Jimmy Oakley. The funeral was held Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with the Rev. John McCarty, pastor of the Clifford Baptist Church, officiating. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: David Matichak, Sr., David Matichak, Jr., Brian Matichak, William Matichak, Jason Yasnovitch, Edward Bognatz, Jr., Edward Bognatz, III. and Nathaniel Matichak.
