Eileen Dance, 93, formerly of Greenfield Township, PA, died Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024 at the Carbondale Nursing Center, Carbondale, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert C. Dance on July 29, 2023.

Born June 22, 1931 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Kutch Urda.

Eileen was a 1949 graduate of Fell High School, Simpson, and worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry in Carbondale and Clifford. Eileen also ran a vegetable stand in front of her home for many years. She was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Jermyn, PA, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company and the NEPA Telephone Association. Eileen and Bob were very proud of their home and their immaculately kept property.

Eileen was wonderful homemaker and a talented baker who was renowned for her blackberry pies. She cared for all her grandchildren when they were younger and cherished the time spent with them, especially taking them on vacations. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Carbondale Nursing Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for their care and kindness to Eileen and her family.

She is survived by two daughters: Diane Tierney and husband, James, Sr. of Scott Township, PA and Tammy Pascoe and husband, Ron of Jermyn, PA; four grandchildren: Tara Golenski and husband, Stephen, Shannon Penzone, Jesse Anderline and wife, Rosemarie, and Austin Anderline; four great-grandchildren: Zachary Setzer and wife, Krystal, Riley Setzer and Casey and Molly Penzone; one great-great granddaughter: Madelyn Setzer; one brother: Paul Urda and wife, Mildred of Sayre, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

A Requiem service was held Monday, October 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Michael's Orthodox Church, 305 Walnut Street, Jermyn, PA, with Rev. Fr. John Black, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA.

Pallbearers: Riley Setzer, Jesse Anderline, Austin Anderline, Casey Penzone, Stephen Golenski and Atty. James Tierney.

Viewing was held Monday, October 21, 2024 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
