Edra J. Bell, 102, a resident of the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA., died Tuesday morning, January 18, 2011 at the nursing home. She was the wife of the late Leon E. Bell, who died March 15, 1977. Born December 7, 1908 in Clifford Township, PA., she was the last surviving child of the late Henry D. and Emma (Ross) Jones. She resided in Hop Bottom, PA., for 36 years before moving to Peckville, PA. and was a member of the Peckville United Methodist Church and Class 6. She was also a member of the Retired Club of Peckville. The family would like to thank the staff at the Forest City Nursing Home for their compassionate care to Edra. She is survived by one son: Lyman E. Bell of Clearmont, FL.; one granddaughter: Denise Bell of Omaha, NE.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister: Marguerite Clark; four brothers: Miller, Rexford, Douglas and Rupert Jones. The funeral was held Friday, January 21, 2011 at 7:00 PM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with Rev. Sharon Dietz, pastor of the Peckville United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Friends called Friday, January 21, 2011 from 5-7 PM.
