Edna W. Howie age 91, of 10 Hart Place, Carbondale died early Thursday morning, July 25, 2002 at the Carbondale Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her first husband Milton Jones and her second husband Granger Howie.
Born May 28, 1911 in Carbondale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Emma (Corby) Williams.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carbondale where she served as a deacon and taught Sunday school.
Prior to her retirement she worked as a sales clerk for Kearney Drug Store, Carbondale for 40 years.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by Four Grandchildren: James Tolerico, Richard Tolerico and Anthony Tolerico all of Carbondale, PA. and Kay Calabro of Archbald, PA.; 5 Great Grandchildren; Cousins; Nieces Nephews
She was preceded in death by two daughters: Emma Louise Tolerico and Grace Ann Jones; one grandson: John Albert Tolerico
The funeral was held Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 2:30 pm from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale with Rev. William Blackie, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Carbondale officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
Viewing was held Saturday, July 27, 2002 from 1:30 pm until service time.
