Edith "Edie" Miller, 58, of Carbondale, PA, died Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA, after a brief illness. Born August 28, 1962 in Springfield, IL, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Ima Jean Speaks Cummings. She attended Lanphier High School and eventually relocated to Carbondale, where she was previously employed at A.J.'s Bar-N-Grill and most recently the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center. She was an avid sports fan and fierce competitor. A life-long St. Louis Cardinal fan and long-time Denver Bronco fan, she was always eager to stir the pot when it came to rival teams within the family and her circle of friends. She will be remembered by her point blank approach to life, her quick wit and her ever giving heart. She is survived by her children: Courtney Butler, Abbey Hendricker and Steven Miller and wife, Kellie; four grandchildren: Luke, Josiah, Genesis & Audrey; two brothers: Ernie Cummings and Billy Cummings and wife, Yvonne; several nieces and nephews; and her long-time companion: Shawn Gallagher. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Marty Cummings. As per her request, she was cremated. Arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
