Earl J. Abrams, 70, of Clifford Township, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA. He is survived by his wife of 17 years the former Laura Otto. Born July 19, 1946 in Towanda, PA, he was the son of the late David and Olive Trowbridge Abrams. Earl had been a truck driver for 50 years. He owned and operated E&L Trucking and later drove for Joseph Eletto Transfer in Wilkes Barre, PA. Earl was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching NASCAR and going to the Casino. He is survived by one son: Mark Abrams and wife Robin of Moscow, PA; one daughter: Melissa Henry and husband Blain of Clifford Township, PA; two step daughters: Maren Visavati of Tunkhannock, PA and Sharon Hill of Harrisburg, PA; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one brother: Larry Abrams of Tunkhannock, PA; two sisters: Peggy Failing and Eleanor Harvey both of Tunkhannock, PA; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Melinda Piasecki and a brother: James Dewitt. A visitation was held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA. A funeral service was conducted at 6 p.m. by Pastor Don Perry of the First United Methodist Church, Carbondale, PA. Interment was private.
