Obituary

Dustin J. Dusty Estabrook, 26, of Clifford Township, PA., died Tuesday night, June 19, 2012 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA., after complications following surgery. Born July 9, 1985 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of Lori Cottrell Cook and husband Paul of Clifford Township, PA. and Richard Estabrook, Jr. and wife Kathy of Hop Bottom, PA. He was a magna cum laude graduate of the Mountain View High School in Kingsley, PA. He was employed as a sales associate at Walmart in Dickson City, PA and formerly worked for Kozlowski Towing and Repair in Union Dale, PA. He was a member and first responder for the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company, Clifford, PA. From the time of his birth Dusty began to bring smiles to the faces of his family. He grew to be a kind, strong and fun loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He inspired everyone to be a better person, remaining positive and uplifting despite his disability. Dusty always lit the room up with his smile and sense of humor. He was selfless, always helping his family, friends and community. He enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends simply loving life. In his 26 years of life Dusty has left his imprint on so many people and will continue to motivate, guard and love us all from heaven. He is survived by six siblings: Leslie Estabrook of Hop Bottom, PA., Elissa Cook of Bloomsburg, PA., Jeffrey Cook of Dunmore, PA., Amber Zick of Lenox , PA. Jeff Zick of Hop Bottom, PA. and Dan Zick of Pittston, PA.; step grandmother: Betty Estabrook of Montrose, PA.; step grandfather: Paul Cook of Scranton, PA.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: LeRoy and Florence Cottrell; his paternal grandparents: Richard and Betty Estabrook. The funeral was held Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 8:00 PM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, with Rev. James Major, pastor of the Watson Hill Bible Church, Lakeside, PA., officiating. Cremation followed the service. Friends called Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were made to a memorial fund established for the family and sent in c/o, First National Bank, P.O.
