Dorothy V. Yates, age 68, of Royal, PA., died late Saturday evening, February 16, 2008 in the Intensive Care Unit at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. Born August 3, 1939 in Worcester, NY., she was the daughter of the late Hayward and Ethel (Henness) Fancher. She was a member of the Jackson Baptist Church, Jackson, PA. She worked as a supervisor for 15 years at the Mansfield State Hospital, Mansfield CT., as a presser for 10 years at Cerra's Dress Factory, Carbondale, PA. and retired after 20 years as a cook from Bingham's Restaurant, Lenox Township, PA. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and crocheting but most of all loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by three daughters: Laurie husband David Bean of Uniondale, PA., Gloria husband Richard Milazzo of Harford, PA. and Terri husband Joseph Salansky of Uniondale, PA.; one son: Shawn Kniskern of Royal, PA.; one sister: Shirley Eichhorn of Laurens, NY.; two brothers: Donald Fancher of Worcester, NY. and Paul Fancher of Decatur, NY.; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; Several nieces nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Harold and Francis Fancher. A memorial service was held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Jackson Baptist Church, Route 92, Jackson, PA., with the Rev. Gary Haskell, pastor, officiating. Inurnment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, PA.
