Dorothy A. "Dottie" Vernarec, 78, of Hawley, PA, died Monday night, April 3, 2017 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA. She was the wife of the late Stephen Vernarec, who died in 1995. Born January 15, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Loretta Johnston Donnelly. Prior to her retirement, Dottie was the former owner and operator of the Greeley Inn, Greeley, PA. She is survived by two daughters: Maggie Winchester of South Sterling, PA and Judith Thompson of Greeley, PA; one son: James Lavine; five grandchildren. A private graveside service and interment was held at St. Ann's Cemetery, Shohola, PA, by Rev. Thomas Major, pastor of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Shohola, PA. Arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
