Dorothy M. Dottie Renter, age 62, of Greenfield Township, PA., died Friday evening, August 22, 2008, at the Carbondale Nursing Home, Carbondale, PA., after a courageous battle with C.O.P.D. Her husband of 15 years is Hans Renter, also of Greenfield Township, PA. Born October 18, 1945 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Charlotte (Sonn) Buck. She was a member of the Clifford United Methodist Church, a graduate of Belleville High School and formerly was Dorothy Buck Mottola of Belleville, NJ. She was most recently employed by PNC Bank in Carbondale. She will be remembered by many as a very happy and friendly teller who loved her customers as much as they loved her. Dorothy was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed and remembered by her family, friends and everyone whose life she touched. She loved life and it was apparent in her smile, which she was happy to share with everyone who was lucky to get a glimpse of it. She accepted her illness with great strength, hope, courage and dignity remaining positive to the very end. She knew God had already blessed her with extra time on this earth after surviving breast cancer in 2002 and was ready to be with him in heaven. The family would also like to express a special thank you to the staff of the Carbondale Nursing Home who helped Dorothy pass into her eternal-life in heaven with dignity and comfort. Their support, compassion, professionalism and kindness to Dorothy, family and friends will be forever appreciated. She is survived by two sons: Nicholas wife Joely Mottola of Dickson City, PA. and Angelo wife Hazel Mottola of Tampa, FL.; one sister: Jane Giles of Williamsport, MD.; two brothers: Willard wife Romayne Buck of Clifford, PA. and Walter wife Jane Buck of Belleville, NJ.; grandchildren: Anthony, Vincent Lindsey, all of Tampa, FL.; Nieces, Nephews, Stepson, Stepdaughters and Many Friends. The funeral was held Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with Pastor Peg Knapich of the Clifford United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart, PA. Pallbearers: Nicholas Mattola, Angelo Mattola, David Buck, James Renter, Kevin Riely and Robert Smargiassi Friends called Monday, August 25, 2008 from 6-8 PM.
