Dorothy M. Miller, 85, of Jermyn, PA., died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. She was the wife of the late Kirt O. Miller, Sr., who died August 24, 1981. Born August 9, 1923 in East Berlin, PA., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Masie (Spangler) Leas.She was a graduate of the East Berlin High School, class of 1941. Prior to her retirement, she worked with her husband and children on the family farm. She was a member of the Clifford Baptist Church, Clifford, PA. and the Greenfield Township Historical Society. She enjoyed fishing, quilting and growing flowers in her garden. She also enjoyed having the Bible read to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family. She is survived by three sons: Roger Miller and wife Gloria, Keith Miller and Kevin Miller all of Jermyn, PA.; one daughter: Brenda Miller of Jermyn, PA.; three grandchildren: Rodger, Jason and Jodie Miller; two great grandchildren: Paige and Maddison Miller; three sisters: Ann Wilt of East Berlin, PA., Alverna Borror of Pittsburgh, PA. and Janet Shoemaker of East Berlin, PA.; four brothers: Arthur Leas, Fred Leas, Paul Leas and Harold Leas all of East Berlin, PA.; Several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by one son: Kirt O. Miller, Jr., who died in 1994; one daughter: Sharon Miller, who died in 1948; four sisters: Ellen Hinkle, Millie Eisenhart, Blanche Boyce and Katherine Marks; one brother: Charles Leas.The funeral was held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, with Pastor Joseph Schloegel, of the Berean Baptist Fellowship Church, Glenwood, PA., officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Pallbearers: Rodger Miller, Jason Miller, Jeff Miller, Bruce Taylor, Larry Taylor and James Matechak. Friends called Friday, May 8, 2009 from 2-4 7-9 PM.
