Obituary

Dorothy M. Christensen, age 84, of Carbondale, PA. and formerly of Clifford, PA., died Friday afternoon, December 9, 2005 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She was the wife of the late William H. Christensen who died July 2, 1993. Born April 10, 1921 in Olyphant, PA., she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Stine Ohotnicky. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale and was a graduate of Olyphant High School. She retired as a seamstress from Gillott Dress Factory in Carbondale and was the past president of the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxillary and ran its french fries stand for many years at the yearly picnic. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the: Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company She is survived by two sons: Frank Christensen of Kirkwood, NY. and Dennis Christensen of Crisfield, MD.; two sisters: Eleanor Tomosovich of Throop, PA. and Bernadette Bartzak of Lambertville, NJ.; 6 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; Nieces Nephews She was preceded in death by one brother: Frank Ohotnicky. The funeral was held Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 8:45 am from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Monday, December 12, 2005 from 2-4 7-9 PM. Pallbearers: Jason Christensen, William Christensen, Frank Christensen, Michael Corrigan, Steve Bartzak Ray Bolling.
