Doris Young, 65, of Clifford, PA., died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at home after a sudden illness. She was the wife of John M. Jack Young, who died on January 2, 2004. Born January 8, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA., she was the daughter of the late Waring and Doris McDade Taylor. She was formerly of Philadelphia and had resided in Susquehanna County for the past 35 years. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a sales clerk at Boscov's in Scranton, PA. for 20 years. She always enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter's whom she cherished. She is survived by one son: Brian P. Young and wife Wendy of Liberty, NY.; two granddaughters: Sabryna Alley, who resided with Doris and Tristyn Young; one brother: James Taylor and wife Barbara of New Brittan, PA.; one niece and one nephew: Nadine and James. She was preceded in death by one son: Christopher J. Young, who died on November 23, 2007. A blessing service was held Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, PA., officiating. Friends called Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were made to the family to assist with Doris's granddaughter's college education.
