Obituary

Doris L. Spedding, 80, of Clifford Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George Spedding.

Born August 28, 1944 in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Merle and Vera Capron Miller.

Doris was raised on a farm alongside her five siblings where she enjoyed a treasured childhood. She was a graduate of Mountain View High School, Kingsley, and had worked as a secretary with Gerber Realty and Pass Realty. She was a dedicated member of the Lenoxville United Methodist Church, the Lenoxville Band, the Lenoxville Community Food Share Pantry, and she also sang with the Spark Gospel Group. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, enjoyed weekly card games, and the occasional trip to Atlantic City, NJ. She had a passion for gardening which won her many awards for her beautiful flowers at the Harford Fair. She found joy in hatching and releasing Monarch butterflies and had released hundreds throughout the years. Playing games, doing puzzles, and watching game shows with her beloved cat, Miss Kitty, in her lap were among some of her favorite pastimes. She took pleasure in spending warm-weather weekends hunting for unique finds at local yard sales and auctions with her friends. She had a vibrant social life with a close-knit circle of friends who regularly enjoyed group outings, bus trips, and meeting up for meals. She found her greatest joy in spending time and making memories with her loved ones.

She is also survived by three daughters: Georgette Wormuth (Robert) of Clifford Township, PA, Beth Bognatz (Jeff) of Clifford Township, PA, and Becky Moore of Greenfield Township, PA; three grandchildren: Autumn and Abigail Wormuth and Cooper Moore; one sister: Alma Jean Ditch (Roger) of Windsor, NY; one brother: Alvin Miller (Linda) of Kingsley, PA; and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by sister, Irene Anderson, sister, Lois Carlsen and husband, William "Bill", brother, Olin "Bub" Miller and wife, Elenor "Ellie", and nephew, Sidney Jones ll.

The funeral was held Sunday, August 24th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lenoxville United Methodist Church, 4820 State Route 374, Lenoxville, PA, celebrated by Pastor Patricia Hanley and Pastor Frank Passetti.
