RIS H. SCHESNY (nee Ridzik) , 65, a Lake Ariel PA resident, formerly of Pleasantville NY, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Born on May 29, 1948 in Yonkers NY, Doris was a devoted wife, mother and sister; a loyal friend to all those that had the pleasure of knowing her. Doris' passions included the love and commitment to her family , where she took much pride and passion in their accomplishments. Prior to her retirement, Doris worked within the Pleasantville NY school system, where her care and devotion had a huge impact in the community and on the children that passed through the schools throughout the years. Following retirement, Doris, along with John, had an avid enjoyment in their newly found train hobby. Doris was also a lover of the outdoors, gardening and animals. Doris is survived by her loving husband, John J. Schesny, whom she married in 1973 in Yonkers NY. Doris and John were happily married for 40 years. Doris, a loving mother, is also survived by her daughters, Daria Anne (son-in-law Erik) Larsen of Nutley NJ and Michele Susan (son-in-law Anthony)Nadler of Danbury CT; a loving sister, Patricia (brother-in-law Donald) Kadlec and their children Tamara, Timothy and Terence Kadlec. Visitation was held at DUCHYNSKI-CHERKO FUNERAL HOME, 111 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers NY 10701 on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, from 10AM to 12:30PM followed by a Funeral Service at the Funeral Home and then Interment at Oakland Cemetery.
