Doris R. Posten, 81, a former longtime resident of Binghamton, NY, died Friday, October 5, 2018 at Bay Medical Sacred Heart, Panama City, FL. Born August 11, 1937 in Carbondale, PA, she was the last surviving child of the late Albert and Elsie Mumford Carpenter. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the cafeteria at SUNY-Binghamton. She is survived by one daughter: Michelle Posten and companion John Yelton of Panama City, FL, with whom she resided; three grandchildren: Stephanie, Randy, Jr. and Shyann Darling; two great grandchildren: Melani and Christian Arteaga; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Vonda Burts; her former husband: Walter Posten; five brothers: Dwayne, Carl, Albert, Walter and Elwin Carpenter, two sisters: Helen Chase and Ellamae Campbell. The funeral was held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, officiated by Pastor John Yelton. Interment, Union Dale Cemetery, Union Dale, PA.
