Donald P. Jervis, 77, of Tafton, PA., died Thursday morning, November 7, 2013 at his home on Lake Wallenpaupack after an illness.
Born and raised in Scranton, PA., he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Chernesky Jervis.
He was a graduate of the Scranton School District and later served in the Navy during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a millwright for Union Local 645 in Scranton.
He is survived by several cousins including his caregiver: Michael Grady of Springbrook Twp., PA.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Hughes and a brother: Joseph Jervis, Jr.
The funeral was held Monday, November 11, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Mary Mother of God Parish, 316 William Street, Scranton, PA., celebrated by Rev. Martin Gaiardo, assistant priest. Interment with military honors, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
