Donald J. Farrell, 85 of Lakeland, FL., died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Eleanor Davis Farrell, RN. Born in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Joseph and Molly Murray Farrell. He attended Carbondale public schools and the Johnson Trade School. He was a Navy veteran having served during World War II. He moved to Florida in 1958 and had been employed at American Cyanamid in Brewster, FL. for over 30 years. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and the American Legion Post 4 both of Lakeland. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Lakeland where he also worked following his retirement. He is survived by three children: Joseph Farrell and wife Sherri of Georgia, Kim Luke and husband Benny of Lakeland, FL. and Jeffrey Farrell and wife Pam of Lakeland, FL.; one sister: Delphine Kretchik of Carbondale, PA.; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a niece: Ann Marie Kretchik of Carbondale, PA. Funeral services were held in Florida. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Local arrangements were entrusted to Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
