Dominick P. Mickey Grecco, age 84, of Carbondale, PA. and Clearwater, FL., died Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Laurelwood Care Center, Johnstown, PA.
Born April 22, 1928 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Salvatore and Marie Antoinette (Falbo) Grecco.
Dominick was a graduate of Lackawanna Junior College, Scranton. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II and was very proud to serve his country. He was employed as a time study engineer for Hill Refrigeration, Trenton, NJ. until his retirement in 1993. In 1995, he moved to a retirement community in Clearwater, FL. and made his home there until his health declined and returned to Pennsylvania.
He is survived by one nephew: Paul Eastlake of Jermyn, PA.; two nieces: Joan Ponzurick and husband Philip of Johnstown, PA. and Jean Mosher and husband Edward of Carbondale, PA.; four great nieces and nephews: Eric and Todd Mosher and Amanda and Matthew Ponzurick special cousins: Tony and Mary Carbo of Clearwater, FL.
He was preceded in death by one sister: Gloria Eastlake; one niece: Gloria Brennan.
A blessing service was held Monday, August 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale. Inurnment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Military honors were provided by the Simpson VFW Honor Guard. Friends called Monday, August 13, 2012 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations were sent to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, FL 33760 or Asera Care Hospice, 1255 Scalp Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15904.
