Obituary

Dominick M. (Mick) Esgro, III., 48, of Carbondale, PA., died Monday evening, December 18, 2006 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA., after an illness. Born January 4, 1958 at Mid-Valley Hospital in Blakely, PA., he was the son of Dominick M. and Mary (Fox) Esgro, Jr. of Greenfield Township, PA. After graduating from Lakeland High School in 1975, he joined the Army National Guard and served for four years. He owned and operated Wheelers Warf Seafood in Dunmore, PA., and was an experienced carpenter, mechanic and truck driver before becoming ill. His interests varied and he was a third degree blackbelt in martial arts. Mick received what he felt was his second chance at life in 2005 with a kidney transplant. He was a devoted son, loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He is so loved by his family and friends and will be forever missed. Blue, Blue windows behind the stars, yellow moons on the rise, everytime I look into the sky, I will see your eyes. He is survived by one son: Dominick M. Esgro, IV. of Dunmore, PA.; one daughter: Amanda Esgro of Mayfield, PA.; two brothers: Frank Esgro of Dundaff, PA. and Joseph Esgro of Greenfield Township, PA.; one sister: Debbie Esgro of Carbondale, PA.; one granddaughter: Karissa Caffrey of Mayfield, PA.; Several Nieces Nephews. He was preceded in death by one nephew: Jim Jimbo Denney; one brother-in-law: Thomas Rattler Powell. A blessing service was held Friday, December 22, 2006 at 9:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale, officiating. Interment, Shady Lane Cemetery, Chinchilla, PA. Friends called Thursday, December 21, 2006 from 2-4 7-9 PM. All of Micks biker friends had one last motorcycle ride in honor of Mick on Thursday. Bikers met at the funeral home at 6:15 PM and departed at 6:30 PM for a short ride through town. Military honors were conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Simpson, PA. Pallbearers: Greg Pezanowski, Joey Pezanowski, Steve Esgro, Jack Iyoob, John Esgro, Jr., Greg Esgro, Mark Esgro and Joseph Esgro.
