Obituary

Carbondale Police Officer, Dominick D. Andidora, 51, of Carbondale, PA, died Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at home.

Born July 18, 1974 in Carbondale, PA, he is the son of former Chief of Carbondale Police Department Dominick "Magrag" and Kathy (Loftus) Andidora of Carbondale.

Dominick was a 1992 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Carbondale, and graduated from the police academy at Lackawanna Junior College. He entered the police force at the age of 18. He is currently a patrolman for the Carbondale Police Department and formerly worked at the Jessup Police Department and as Chief for Susquehanna Borough Police Department. Dominick was a highly decorated police officer saving numerous lives throughout his career. He also was a member of the Mounted Police Squad.

He was an avid hunter and member of the Four Seasons Lodge Hunting Club, the Moxie Club, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, all of Carbondale.

Dominick will truly be remembered as a loving and caring father, son, brother, and uncle.

He is also survived by three children: Angelina and Dominick Andidora and Kailene Castro, all of Carbondale, PA; three siblings: David, Jaime and Nicholas Andidora and wife, Shannon, all of Carbondale, PA; four nieces and nephews: Karmin, Nikkia, Nicholas and Braylee Andidora; and the mother of his children: Nicole (Formosa) Andidora of Carbondale, PA.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Donald and Lois Loftus and Dominick and Margaret Andidora; and an uncle: Anthony Andidora.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA, concelebrated by Rev. Joseph Mosley, pastor, and Rev. Timothy Kennedy, police chaplain and pastor of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Jessup, PA. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Pallbearers: Chief Brian Bognatz, Jesse VanDeusen, Joseph Laguzzi, Jeff Arthur, Brittany Mang, William Wolfe, Brian Rock, Anthony Calabro, Robert Williams and Jesse Pruitt.

An Honor guard was provided by Local, County and State Law Enforcement, members of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 63, Carbondale Mayor Michele Bannon, Carbondale Fire Department, Cottage Hose Ambulance, and Carbondale DPW.

A viewing was held Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 3-7 p.m. at the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations were made to an education fund for Dom's children. Checks can be made payable to Jaime Andidora and sent to the family home.
