Dolores A. Sheare, 85, of Carbondale, PA, died Monday, June 7, 2021 at Regional Hospital of Scranton, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Fitzsimmons, on December 2, 1957 and her beloved husband of 43 years, Trevor D. Sheare, Jr. who died on May 26, 2004. Born April 26, 1936 in Whites Crossing, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Hilda Russell Hughes. Dolores was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, PA, and was a faithful member of the Carbondale First United Methodist Church. She had been employed by Kmart in Dickson City, PA, for 25 years and retired from WEA Manufacturing, Olyphant, PA. She had also worked for many years in Newark, NJ. Dolores will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She is survived by three daughters: Sandra Miller of Forest City, PA, Bonnie Duffy of Carbondale, PA, and Susan Dulski and husband, Cory of Vandling, PA; two sons: Trevor D. Sheare, III., and wife, Carol of Carbondale, PA, and Mark A. Sheare and companion Sarah Liuzzo of Carbondale, PA; a step-son: T.R. "Slugger" Sheare and wife, Jaki of Union Dale, PA; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a grandson: Brian Sheare; five brothers: Francis, Glenn and Morgan Hughes and infants Richard and Robert Hughes; four sisters: Jean Veneziano, Lydia Craparo and infants Anna Mae and Elizabeth Hughes; two nephews: Richard and Glen Hughes; and a niece: Tori Hughes. The funeral was held Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale, 20 N. Church Street, Carbondale, with Rev. Donald Perry, pastor, officiating. Interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart, PA. Pallbearers: Jeffrey Sheare, Patrick Duffy, Ryan Sheare, Aaron Miller, Brandon Sheare and Danny Green.
