Diane Elizabeth Jarrow, 63, of Scott Township, PA., died Monday afternoon, July 18, 2011 at Ascera Care Hospice, Peckville, PA. She was the wife of Joseph Jarrow. They were married on August 3, 1968.
Born April 7, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Betty (Ulbrich) Kazmierski.
She was a graduate of Penn Hills High School, Penn Hills, PA., and was a Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War. After being discharged she and her husband moved to the area and settled in Scott Township where they resided for the past 37 years. In 2008, she retired from the clerical department at Clarks Summit State Hospital, Clarks Summit, PA.
In her younger years she had been very athletic and excelled in gymnastics. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and had been a member of the Polish Falcons, Nest 176, District IV, in Lawrenceville, PA. She had also performed traditional Polish dances with the Polish Falcons at Carnegie Hall.
Her life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren and she will be deeply missed by them. She will be fondly remembered for always speaking her mind and not backing down.
She is survived by three children: Joseph Jarrow and wife Ann of Lenoxville, PA., Amy Jarrow of Justus, PA. and Jonthomas Jarrow and wife Jennifer of Jessup, PA.; four grandchildren: Kristin, Joey, Matt and Nick; one brother: Rudy Kazmierski and wife Nora of Clearwater, FL.; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA., with a blessing service officiated by Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor of St. John Vianney Parish, Scott Township. Interment with military honors, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Township, PA.
Pallbearers: Matthew Johnson, Matthew Morell, Joseph Jarrow, Nicholas Jarrow, Rudy Kazmierski and Paul Shemonski.
