Denise D. Doherty, 49, of Carbondale, PA, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA. Born May 27, 1967 in Paterson, NJ, she was the daughter of Mabel Benson Hendricks of Carbondale and the late Dennis Doherty. She was employed as a certified nurses aid at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by two children: Kristina Davis and Phillip Gonzales both of Carbondale, PA; two sisters: Robin Doherty and Betty Capozzi both of Carbondale, PA; two brothers: Michael Hendricks of Paterson, NJ and Chris Doherty of Carbondale, PA; seven grandchildren: Krista Davis, Amora Davis, Harmony Gonzales, Kevin Davis, Kyle Zantowsky, Phillip Gonzales and Johnny Gonzales; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son: Dennis Doherty; a brother: Edward Hendricks; three sisters: Roxanne and Sandra Hendricks and Michele Cruz. Visitation was held Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale. Interment followed at Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Pallbearers: Phillip Gonzales, Michael Van Tassel, Joseph Marion, Christopher Doherty, William Gabriel and Kevin Davis.
