Delphine F. Kretchik, RN, 87, of Carbondale, PA, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kretchik on October 10, 1982.
Born December 14, 1937 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary "Molly" Murray Farrell.
Delphine was a 1956 graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale, and the Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Roxborough. She had been employed as a registered nurse for 38 years at St. Joseph's Hospital, later Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale.
Delphine was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, along with their Charismatic Prayer Group. She was an avid golfer and a member of the former Skyline Women's Golf League.
Special thanks are extended to the staff of Wayne Woodlands Manor, Wayne Memorial Hospital and the Cottage Hose Ambulance for the excellent and compassionate care they provided.
She is survived by her daughter: Ann Marie of Carbondale, PA, and her boyfriend, Tony Coloma of Scranton, PA; and several nieces and nephews including; Laura Kretchik, Kim Luke and husband, Benny, Joseph Farrell and wife, Sheri and Jeff Farrell and wife, Pam.
She was also preceded in death by her brother: Donald J. Farrell.
Private funeral services were held from Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA, where a Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Mosley, senior priest. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
