Delbert H. Sparks, 90, of Clifford Township, PA., died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Valencia Hills Health and Rehabilitation, Lakeland, FL. His wife of 69 years is the former Alma R. Lee. Born July 13, 1922 in Gelatt, PA., he was the son of the late Stanley and Theresia (Johnson) Sparks. He was a graduate of Pleasant Mount High School and worked as a self employed dairy farmer in CliffordTownship. He also retired as a manager from the Johnson and Johnson Estate in Crystal Lake. Delbert was a soft spoken, kind hearted gentle man who devoted his life to his family. He served as Justice of the Peace in Union Dale and Clifford Township and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and traveling with his wife. He is survived by two daughters: Lois Howell and husband Thomas and Marilyn Light, all of Clifford Township, PA.; three grandchildren: Kendra Alaishuski and husband Geoff of Audubon, PA., Krista Oswalt and husband Eric of Gilbert, AZ. and Karla Micklo and husband Frank of Succasunna, NJ.; five great grandchildren: Paige and Nora Alaishuski, Alaina and Kelsey Oswalt and Nathan Micklo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son-in-law: Kenneth Light; one brother: Richard Sparks; one sister: Betty Diorio. Friends called Friday, April 26, 2013 from 4-7 PM at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA. A private memorial service for the family will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 with Rev. Kim Bode, pastor of the Grace Lutheran Church, Hop Bottom, PA., officiating.
