Obituary

David Bruce Hefner, Sr., 57, of South Scranton, PA., died Wednesday morning, July 23, 2008 at home after a brief illness. He was the husband of the former Linda Stubaus. He was born March 5, 1951 in Carbondale, PA. He was of the Catholic faith and was employed as a carpenter for Amity Lumber Company in Taylor, PA. His favorite pastimes were camping and fishing. He is survived by two sons: Bruce Hefner, Jr. and Jimmy Joe Hefner both of Gennis, TX.; three daughters: Jennifer Bannon and husband Vito of Scranton, PA., Lynda Stubaus of Taylor, PA. and Joan Arcaro and husband Frank of Taylor, PA.; two step sons: Michael Raymond Chippa both of Scranton, PA; one brother: Gary Hefner of Texas; 22 Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews. He was preceded in death by one son: Patrick Hefner; one step son: Robert Chico Owczarski; one brother: Larry Hefner; one step brother: Glenn Reisner; one nephew: Larry Hefner, Jr. David donated his body to the Human Gifts Registry program in Philadelphia, PA., to ensure the advancement of medical education and research. Friends called Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA., from 5 to 8 PM. A memorial service was held at 6:45 PM and celebrated by Brother Daniel Gallucci, assistant chaplain at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, PA.
