Darlene D. Leahy, 78, of Carbondale, PA, died Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA, after a lengthy illness.

Born April 4, 1948 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Harris Bromage and the late Thomas Bromage.

Darlene was a graduate of Scott Township High School. Her passion was landscaping and gardening and she used her talents as a landscape artist at Mermelstein’s Nursey in Carbondale for many years. She was later employed as the manager of the Salvation Army Store in Carbondale. Darlene had a deep appreciation of music and also loved to sing and dance.

She is survived by two daughters: Michele Zurine and companion, Joe Dovin of Richmondale, PA, and Cindy Zurine and companion, Bill Donovan of Carbondale, PA; a granddaughter: Asia Zurine; and a niece, Daniele.

She was preceded in death by her husband: William J. Leahy, Jr.; and three brothers: Wayne, Dale and Patrick Bromage.

Private cremation arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
