Daniel Price, Jr., 84, of Windsor, NY, went to be with his Savior on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in a tragic fire at the family home. Guided by his strong belief in God, Dan dedicated his life to a life of service to his family, country, students, and community. He worked hard and provided well for his family, served his country honorably as a United States Marine, taught social studies and history to hundreds of students, proctored New York State Civil Service examinations, and served community as a Windsor Town Board member, Chair of the Windsor Town Planning Board, and Poll Worker.
His community volunteerism was exemplary: Serving as Vice-President of the Susquehanna Valley Grange, President of the Welsh Society of the Southern Tier, President of the Price Reunion, helping people with their properties and gardens, driving people to medical appointments for the Deposit Foundation, working on the Susquehanna Valley Grange building, barbequing chickens for the Kirkwood Historical Society, taking time to visit with and care for people. Dan always cared about other people and was grateful for people who helped him. The doctors and nurses at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA, who saved his life from Anaplasmosis in 2018 were recognized again in his passing with a generous donation to the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.
Dan would want any donations to go to his church, Christian Church of Fellowship, Kirkwood, NY or to first responders who were there in his final hour: Windsor Fire Company, West Windsor Volunteer Fire Company, Five Mile Point Fire Company, Deposit Volunteer Fire Department, Harpursville Fire Department, Susquehanna PA Fire Department, Eastern Broome Emergency Services, Broome Volunteer Emergency Squad, Inc.
