Obituary

Clarence Reed Coog Brainard, age 77, of South Gibson, PA. died Monday morning, September 13, 2004 at home following a lengthy illness. His wife is the former Mildred Kaminski. They were married for 56 years. Born March 17, 1927 in Harford, PA. He was the youngest son of the late Lynn and Ethel (Tiffany) Brainard. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Harford. He was a self-employed farmer, logger and stone hauler for most of his life. He was an avid horse lover who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. For 10 years his horses pulled the packet boat at the Erie Canal Village in Rome, NY. Memorial Contributions can be sent to: First Congregational Church Harford, Pa 18823 He is survived by one daughter: Reade and husband Bob Libengood of Chiefland, FL.; three sons: John and wife Jeanette Brainard, Frank and wife Kate Brainard and Steven and wife Suzanne Brainard all of Kingsley, PA.; six Grandchildren: Shaun, Jamie, Taylor, Madison, Brittany and Cole; Several Nieces Nephews He was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Tiffany; three sisters and five brothers A private memorial service took place at the convenience of the family. There was no public viewing. Interment, Peck Cemetery, Harford, PA. Cremation took place at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA. Funeral arrangements were entrusted under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, PA.
