Clara E. Simpson, 67, of Greenfield Township, PA., died Tuesday night, June 29, 2010 at Mercy Hospice, Scranton, PA.
Born December 1, 1942 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Corrine (Parry) Simpson.
She was a graduate of Mayfield schools and the Pittston Hospital School of Nursing. She was the director of the Intensive Care Unit at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia for 30 years. She was a member of the Tompkinsville United Methodist Church, Tompkinsville, PA.
She loved going to the casino's and enjoyed needle point and crocheting.
She is survived by two nephews and one niece: Larry Blank, Diana Blank and Lonnie Blank; one great nephew: Lonnie Tyler Blank; one great niece: Kiralynn Evelene Blank.
She was preceded in death by one sister: Donna Blank; one brother: Edward Simpson.
A memorial service was held Monday, July 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Tompkinsville United Methodist Church, Tompkinsville, PA., with Pastor Lori Horlacher, Ph.D., pastor, officiating. Inurnment, Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford, PA.
Friends called Monday, July 5, 2010 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the church.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
