Clara C. Scavo, age 78, of Carbondale, PA., died Friday afternoon, November 25, 2005 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She was the wife of Russell A. Scavo for 52 years. Born October 3, 1927 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Carmella Gentile Leo. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Carbondale and was a 1945 graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale. She was a wonderful homemaker and baker. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt who will be dearly missesd and loved her family very much. She is survived by three daughters: Linda husbnad Paul Striefsky of Somers Point, NJ., Susan husband James Palmiero of Greenfield Township, PA. and Clare Scavo of Carbondale, PA.; two sisters: Jane Pascoe of Trafford, PA. and Celia McDonnell of Carbondale, PA.; one brother: Anthony Sonny Leo of Carbondale, PA.; Nieces Nephews; Great Nieces Nephews: Tyler, Jordan, Abby, Vicky, Diana David The funeral was held Monday, November 28, 2005 at 10:45 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township. Friends called Sunday, November 27, 2005 from 2-4 7-9 PM. Pallbearers: Patrick McDonnell, Jr., Tyler Liptak, Tom Liptak and Paul Roberts.
