Charles W. Kurtz, 86, a former resident of Spafford, NY, died on July 1, 2026, in Scranton, PA.

Born October 27, 1939 in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late William and Rachel Leader Kurtz. He moved to Simpson, Pennsylvania nine years ago, and was a retired employee of Onondaga County Department of Transportation.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jeanne Kurtz; six children: Roy, Carl, Theresa, Cindy, Alice and Audrey; a sister: Jane Fordock; and three brothers: Bill, Ted and Tim Kurtz.

He was also preceded in death by a sister: Sally Kurtz, and a brother: Don Kurtz.

As per his request, no services will be held.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
