Charles J. "Chuckie" Ferris, III., 62, of Jessup, PA, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at home. Born June 1, 1959 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles J. Ferris, Jr. and the late Barbara Pleviak Ferris. Chuckie was a graduate of Lakeland Jr/Sr High School and received an administration degree from McCann Business School. He was a member of the United Steel Workers, Local 15253 and had worked on many area highway and bridge projects. He was later employed by Latona Construction, Avoca. Chuckie was a fan of the New York Yankees and was an avid fisherman, especially deep-sea fishing. He loved music and had a vast knowledge of different music genres. He will be fondly remembered for his storytelling of his adventures with his friends. His two sons meant the world to him and he was forever broken hearted at their passing. Chuckie loved his Shar-Pei, Elsa who was always by his side. He is survived by his longtime fiancée, Brenda Caines of Jessup, PA; three sisters: Cynthia E. Opalka and husband, Michael of Waymart, PA, Christine Russo and husband, Anthony of Carbondale, PA, and Carol Jonsson and husband, Mats of South Abington Township, PA; eight nieces and nephews: Michele, Melanie, Anthony, Marissa, Andrew, Emily, Sarah and M.J.; four great nieces and nephew: Mariah, Madelyn, Skylar and Tony. He was also preceded in death by his two sons: Charles J. Ferris, IV. and Anthony M. Ferris. The funeral was held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Arun Lakra, assistant pastor. Cremation followed. Pallbearers: Anthony Russo, Andrew Russo, M.J. Jonsson, Mats Jonsson, Thomas Ferris and John Miles.
