Celestine Ferrerio age 97, formerly of Copeland Avenue, Carbondale, died Saturday afternoon, June 8, 2002 at the Forest City Nursing Home where he had been a resident. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Rita McManamon who died March 15, 1992. Born November 4, 1904 in Peekskill, NY. He was the son of the late Frank and Mary Rose (Critelli) Ferrerio. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office. He was a veteran of World War II having served as a private in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1944. He is survived by one son: Joseph Ferrerio of Uniondale, PA He was preceded in death by four brothers: Samuel, Fred, Adolph, and Richard Ferrerio; and four sisters: Margaret Griffin, Ellen Kuchwara, Edith Falbo, and Adaline Ferrerio. Cremation took place in the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald. Interment, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Arrangements were entrusted into the care of the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc. Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale.
