Catherine F. Plonski, 86, of Carbondale, PA., died Saturday morning, January 2, 2009 at the Osprey Ridge Health Care Center, Carbondale. Born March 1, 1923 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Olesewski) Plonski. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by Weston Components Control of Archbald, PA. for 35 years. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Mayfield, PA. She enjoyed playing bingo and listening to polkas. She loved her home and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. She is survived by one brother: Joseph Plonski and wife Bea of Carbondale, PA.; one brother-in-law: Anthony Grecco of Carbondale, PA.; seven nieces and nephews: Rose Mary Bucci, Dianne Shearer, Jerry Grecco, Karen Grecco, Susan Ogozaly, Laura Wiggins and David Plonski; her special caregiver: Darlene Klein. She was preceded in death by six siblings: Frank Plonski, Mary Jane Grecco and infants: Anthony, Charles, Paul and Florence Plonski; one nephew: Joseph Plonski, Jr. The funeral was held Tuesday, January 5, 2009 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor. Interment, Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, East Jermyn, PA. Pallbearers: Thomas Shearer, Anthony Shearer, David Plonski, Donald Ogozaly, James Wiggins and Raymond Sona. Friends called Monday, January 4, 2009 from 2-4 6-8 PM.
