Catherine G. Hinz, 95, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Mayfield, PA, died Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Carbondale Nursing Home, Carbondale, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hinz in 2003. Born October 6, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Quigley Ready and was a retired supervisor for the Department of Workers Compensation for the City of New York. She is survived by four children: Susan Hinz of Brooklyn, NY, Eric Hinz and wife, Kelly of Mayfield, PA, Kurt Hinz and wife, Joan of Hazlet, NJ and Carl Hinz of Uniondale, NY; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two daughters: Barbara Hinz and Debra McDonald; one grandson: Eric Cuneo; and two brothers and five sisters. The funeral was held Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA. Cremation followed.
