Catherine A. Fairburn, age 22, of Vandling, PA. died unexpectedly Thursday morning, March 6, 2003, at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. Born April 9, 1980 in Carbondale, PA. She was the daughter of Fred and Wanda (Olver) Fairburn, Vandling, PA. She was a member of the Carbondale First United Methodist Church. She was a 1998 graduate of Lakeland Jr. Sr. High School. Cathy was employed in the family business at Dunkin Donuts of Carbondale since she was 15 years old. She will forever be remembered as a free-spirit with a love for life. Among her most prized possesions was her 1973 orange Volkswagon Beetle that she would be seen driving around town in. During her short time with us, she showed all that knew her how to celebrate life and love. She is survived by two brothers: Jeffrey Stinnard of Honesdale, PA. and Eric Stinnard of Carbondale, PA.; Maternal Grandparents: William and Hazel (Marshall) Olver of Beach Lake, PA.; Paternal Grandmother: Alma (Boyle) Fairburn of Carbondale, PA.; 1 Niece and 2 Nephews; Aunts, Uncles and Cousins She was preceded in death by her Paternal Grandfather: Fred J. Fairburn The funeral was held Monday, March 10, 2003, at 11:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. Barbara Snyder, pastor of the Carbondale First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Our Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. A viewing was held Sunday, March 9, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9. Pallbearers: Adam Kopa, William Zaccone, Robert Evans, Jerry Unovitch, Thomas Rosar and Kevin Granville.
