Casey A. Cordova, 18, of Carbondale, PA., died Thursday afternoon, November 7, 2013 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born June 13, 1995 in Honesdale, PA., she is the beloved daughter and best friend of Moira (Kane) Cordova, of Carbondale, PA. Casey was a 2013 graduate of Connections Academy and also attended Carbondale Area Junior/Senior High School where she was a skilled cheerleader who was so graceful as a flyer soaring through the air. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and also played Miss C softball at West Side Field, in Carbondale. Casey had knack for stealing bases and also people's hearts. She was a real jokester who brought joy and laughter to everyone near her, especially to all of her friends who meant the world to her. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her new nephew, Brody Vail, who was her pride and joy. She is survived by one sister: Tabitha Cordova of Carbondale, PA.; three brothers: Eddie, Andrew and Nicholas Cordova, all of Carbondale, PA.; nephew: Brody Vail, of Carbondale, PA.; maternal grandmother: Helen Nielson Kane of Carbondale, PA.; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Andrew J. Kane, Sr.; maternal great grandmother: Marie Young. The funeral was held Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Msgr. David L. Tressler, pastor. Cremation followed the mass. Friends called Monday, November 11, 2013 from 4-7 PM. Pallbearers: Eddie Cordova, Andrew Cordova, Nicholas Cordova, Michael Spaid, Conan Cahill Erick Hinz.
