Obituary

Carolyn Vadala-Soden, 60, of Carbondale, PA, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 11, 2018 at her home. Born February 15, 1958 in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Thompson and the late Sally Costantino Jackson. Carolyn's grandchildren brought her so much joy, they were the light of her life. She also loved tending to her garden and had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles. She is survived by two sons: Frank Scalzo of Leesburg, VA and Bruno Vadala of Carbondale, PA; six grandchildren: Alanna, Liam, Hannah, Fionna, Rowan and Gavin; two sisters: Linda Harris of Edmond, OK and Mary Jo Tolerico of Jermyn, PA; one brother: Daniel Thompson, Jr. of Clarkston, MI; several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with a Catholic blessing service conducted at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City, PA. Pallbearers: Frank Scalzo, Bruno Vadala, Daniel Thompson, Jr., Daniel Thompson, III., Stephen Laguzzi and Michael Harris.
