Carolyn A. Dunback, 70, of Harford, PA, died Friday, March 7, 2025 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born November 11, 1954 in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Poff Burns.

Carolyn was a 1973 graduate of Mountain View High School and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Marywood University in 1997. She had the privilege of substitute teaching at Forest City Regional School and Valley View School District. She also taught at Empire Beauty School.

She enjoyed crafts, playing card games, and traveling to 49 states except for Hawaii. Most of all she loved her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children: Trudy Keene-Butcher and husband, Nicholas of Harford, PA, Jason Keene and wife, Ellen of New Milford, PA, Rose Keene-Swingle and husband, Mark of Forest City, PA, and Gabriel Burns of Harford, PA; eleven grandchildren: Cory Prokarym, Zack Kinney, Katie Kinney, Bernie Cherosky, Michelle Vincavage, Sean Vincavage, Austin Keene, James Keene, Summer Gabriel, Chyanne Wade and Haley Burns; seven great-grandchildren; one sister: Georgia Conover of Binghamton, NY; one sister-in-law: Donna Whittemore of New Milford, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Burt Whittemore and Cal Burns.

Per her request, Carolyn was cremated and no services held.

Arrangements were under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
