Carol A. Gravine, 62, of Carbondale, PA, died Thursday morning, April 23, 2015 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Don "Rumbo" Gravine. Born April 23, 1953 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond McDougold and the late Florence Matthews Warthling. In her younger years, Carol had worked in Carbondale's local garment industry, the Convenient Food Mart and the Carawanna Lunch Restaurant. She was later a stay at home mom and most recently a caregiver to her mother-in-law, Mary Lemoncelli Gravine of Eynon, PA. Carol loved baking, was an excellent cook, and enjoyed reading Stephen King novels. She was a loving and doting grandmother and was a proud mother figure to many children over the years. A very generous and caring person, Carol's home was always open to anyone in need. She is survived by a son: Anthony Gravine and wife Christina of Carbondale, PA; two grandsons: Colyn and Dantay Gravine; two brothers: Edwin Newton of Carbondale, PA and Charles Warthling of Virginia Beach, VA; an uncle: Christopher Baldwin of Carbondale, PA; two aunts: Jean Marie Taylor of Newton Lake, PA and Grace Kacer of Carbondale, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son: Alan Gravine who died in 1988. The funeral was held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with services at 10:00 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, 58 River Street, Carbondale, with Rev. Donald Schaible, pastor, officiating. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, PA.
