Carol Emmett, 67, of Galena, MD. and formerly of Clifford Township, PA., died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at her home in Galena. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Kleinz. Born September 22, 1945 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Emma Salansky O'Hop. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for 25 years as a registered nurse for the State of New Jersey. She enjoyed classical music, art and traveling. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who's spirit and kind heart will be missed by all who knew her. Over the years, she fulfilled the role as the primary caregiver to her family having cared for her mom and sister, Patricia. She is survived by two children: Lynn Brainard and wife Bonnie of Missouri and Michael Brainard and wife Irish of Clifford, PA.; two grandchildren: Coleman and Shainah Brainard; one brother: William O'Hop and wife Kristyna of Dale City, VA.; two sisters: Patricia O'Hop of Galena, MD. and JoAnne Bolin of Factoryville, PA.; many nieces and nephews A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM in St. Dennis Catholic Church, 153 N. Main Street, Galena, MD. Friends called Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, MD. Friends also called Friday, March 1, 2013 from 5-8 PM at Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA. A prayer service was conducted at 5:00 PM by Rev. Michael Kirwin, pastor of St. John Vianney Parish, Royal, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials were offered to Galena Elementary School Media Center, 114 S.
