It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carl Oakley of Kingsley, PA, on March 17, 2023 at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA, surrounded by his family. There are few words to express the deep pain and sorrow of losing Carl.
Born in Nicholson, PA, he was the son of the late Russell and Eleanor Rought Oakley and was a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Ross Feeds in Kingsley, PA.
He is survived by his wife Kathy of 59 years, and his two daughters: Kathleen E. Oakley and Lee Ann Bieber (Brian); he also leaves behind his four grandchildren: Courtney L. Bieber, Eric B. Bieber (Karly), Karleen G. Mazzone (Kory) and Morgan V. Oakley (partner, Scotty); two great grandchildren: Addison and Elijah Bieber; one sister: Marion Davis; two brothers: Kenneth Oakley (Pat) and Benjamin Oakley (Carol); and many loving nieces and nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his son: Steven Carl Oakley; and his sister: Joyce Novotka.
To honor Carl's request there will be no services at this time. Carl was a light in this world and now we need to continue shining his light by carrying it within us. So, to honor Carl's memory and to continue shining his light, we will be holding a celebration of life on August 12, 2023, starting at noon at a place he loved most, the Oakley homestead.
Memorial contributions in Carl's name can be made to Susquehanna County Interfaith, 526 Church Street, Montrose, PA 18801. The family was so proud that Carl was able to give the gift of life through being an organ donor.
Arrangements are under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
