IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carl E.
Brucher
February 28, 1940 – January 4, 2025
Carl Ernest Brucher, 84, of Carbondale, PA, passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose Nemetz Brucher.
Born February 28, 1940 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Ernest and Esther Koch Brucher.
Before his retirement, Carl worked as a machine operator at Hendrick Manufacturing in Carbondale for over 30 years, where he was known for his dedication and skill. His lifelong passion for cars was evident in his extensive career as a competitive drag racer, which began at age 18 and continued until his last race at age 79. Beyond the track, he was an avid builder spending countless hours designing and constructing race cars, engines and working on muscle cars and street rods. He was the go-to person for car enthusiasts, trusted by many for is expert advice and unmatched skill in working on their vehicles. Whether it was a simple repair or a complex project, people knew no one would do a better job than he would. His love for speed and mechanics was matched only by his enjoyment of motorcycle riding, specifically his 1973 Yamaha, and attending Williams Grove sprint car races with his wife, Rose. And it brought him great joy to share his knowledge and offer guidance to his grandchildren. He also found special companionship in his great grand-dog, Marli whose playful presence was a constant source of happiness.
He is also survived by two sons: Carl Brucher and wife, Shelly and Alan Brucher and wife, Jennifer; four grandsons: Carl Scott Brucher, Robert Noone and wife, Allison, Alan Michael Brucher and wife, Claire and Cameron Brucher and fiancée, Rachel; one granddaughter: Tara Falls; and five great-grandchildren.
