Bruce J. Philbin, 52, of Tunkhannock, PA. and formerly of Scranton, PA., died Sunday evening, July 8, 2007 at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, after an apparent heart attack.
Born April 11, 1955 in Scranton, PA., he was the son of Francis (Frank) Philbin of Scranton and the late Joan (Gannon) Philbin, who died October 1, 2004. He was of the Roman Catholic faith and was employed for many years as a laborer. He had also served in the Navy. He is survived by one sister: Sheila Duff of Scranton, PA.; three brothers: Michael Philbin of Pontiac, MI., Terry Philbin of Scranton, PA. and Barry Philbin of Spokane, WA.; five nephews: Jonathan and Michael Bibalo, Christopher, Matthew and T.J. Duff.
A graveside service and interment was held Monday, July 16, 2007 at 1:30 PM at Cathedral Cemetery, Oram Street, Scranton, with Rev. William B. Pickard of the Diocese of Scranton, officiating. Cremation took place from the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA. Arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
