Boris Telep, age 72, of Greenfield Township, PA., died Saturday evening, May 15, 2010 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. His wife of 39 years is the former Patricia Hampton.
Born July 21, 1937 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Stefan and Anna (Oranchka) Telep.
He was a graduate of Scott Township High School and was an Army veteran. He worked for 30 years and retired from American Asphalt in Shavertown, PA., where he was a construction worker.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes and loved the outdoors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and always was willing to help anyone at anytime.
He is survived by two sons: Joseph Telep and Boris Telep, Jr. and wife Tricia, all of Greenfield Township, PA.; one daughter: Rebecca Morgan and husband Robert of Knoxville, TN.; one sister: Mary Ann Lally of Greenfield Township, PA.; six grandchildren: Henry, Alyssa, Nathan and Paul Morgan, all of Knoxville, TN. and James and Jacob Telep, both of Greenfield Twp., PA.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Steven Telep; one sister: Alice Petsch.
The funeral was held Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 10:15 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA., celebrated by Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Friends called Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 4-8 PM.
Military honors were provided by the VFW Honor Guard, Post 4712, Simpson, PA.
Pallbearers: Steven Telep, William Petch, David Prestys, Michael Sullivan, Michael Hoover and Leo Lawler.
