Beverly A. Harrigan, 77, of Dickson City, PA, died Saturday evening, December 27, 2025 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Veronica Flannery Harrigan. After high school, Beverly later continued her education in liberal arts at Lackawanna Junior College in Scranton, PA.
She was a gifted dancer and worked as a dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Elizabeth. After moving to Carbondale, PA, she had worked as an EMT for the Cottage Hose Ambulance and a nurse's aide at the Carbondale Nursing Home. She was later employed by Bob's Bike Brigade and as a waitress for Harpoon Harry's both in Key West, Florida. Beverly was also a sous chef in Summerville, South Carolina.
Beverly was a veteran of the Navy Reserves and was a member of the American Legion Post 665 in Dickson City.
She is survived by three loving daughters: Angela Bonafide of Dunmore, Ellen Mickavicz of Carbondale, and Michelle Bonafide of Archbald; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren whom she adored; two sisters: Janet (Harrigan) Callahan of Winfield Park, NJ and Veronica (Harrigan) Warmbrand of Flemington, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Ralph Harrigan; and her former husband: Edward Bonafide; and her domestic partner: Barbara E. Briand.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 2-6 p.m. at the VFW Post 5207, 257 Daleville Highway, Covington Township, PA.
Cremation arrangements were under the care of the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
